Saunton Sands Farm Holiday Cottages (SSFHC) EX33 2NX
SSFHC are 1.5 miles from Braunton our nearest town with full facilities including Tesco and Co-op supermarkets, Doctors, Pharmacists and Lloyds Bank. The main town in this area is Barnstaple some 5 miles away with full banking facilities and a main hospital including A/E. The complex cottages are located on a large 12 acre level site with the owners home in the countryside very near the coast. OS reference is SS47045 34174
Pre Arrival
The location and directions to the site are on the website and are brown signed from Braunton on the A361. main road from Barnstaple. The nearest train station is Barnstaple which connects with Exeter which is on all main routes into Devon. Fron Barnstaple there are regular buses to Braunton. Sevral taxi firms operate in Braunton and can make the 1.5 mile journey to the site or the walk/cycle to the site is level.
Arrival and Car Park
The owners reside at SSFHC and we greet people personally on arrival from 3pm with arrangements possible for other times day or night. We have parking for up to 20 cars.
Main Entrance and Parking
Each property has its own porch entrance giving access to its own front door and are self contained. All are on the level with a small step (10cms) ecept Mallard Cottage which has 3 steps up to the cottage. As you enter the site Swan and Heron are to your right and there car park is off to the right. The parking for Wagtail, Swift and Moorhen is also in this car park with the cottages a few yards ahead as you enter the site. The parking for Mallard is also off to the right you drive straight past the main car park and for a further 30 yards where you will see parking. The parking for Kingfisher is off to the right as you enter the site and immediately outside these cottages.
The Cottages
Please look at our website for details of individual cottages where we have tried to give as much information as possible each cottage has a washer dryer.
Swimming Pool
The pool has 3 steps to the outer door the inner door has a coded security lock and children should be accompanied in this area at all time.
External Communal Area
There are extensive shared grounds with level mown paths leading around the site and the 1 acre Lake. The playroom is located next to the Pool Complex as you enter the site and the Play Area and Fort Adventure Playground is in the SE corner of the site.
Indoor Playroom
Small children need to be supervised in this area.
Lake
A 1 acre lake stocked with Carp, Roach and Tench. Children should not be allowed to go to the lake unaccompanied. Anglers will need to have a current licence which can be purchased in the Post Office. Barbless hooks no keep nets no nuts or hemps allowed.
Restaurants and Pubs
Braunton has a number of excellent restaurants worth visiting either as a short drive or walk/cycle. The walk is is on foor about 30 minutes along a quiet road without lighting for 0.25 miles and then a footpath for about a mile a torch is advisable. There is a folder of Local information in each cottage.

Direction for Accident and Emergency North Devon District Hospital Barnstaple.
Drive towards tesco on drainage road at roundabout proceed ahead at next roundabout turn right onto A361 to Barnstaple as you enter Barnstaple look for signing and turn left at 3rd set of traffic light and follow road around to next set of lights take a left travel to the tip of the hill where the hospital is located. Turn right at light and ener the hospital do not drive into car park proceed ahead and you will see A/E on your right with parking.
